Verse
Verse is a Spanish but Lithuanian-based e-money institution specializing in mobile payment applications and payment cards.
The Verse mobile application allows users to make and receive payments anytime.
All the money they receive is stored in the Verse digital wallet. From there, users can send it to their friends’ digital wallets.
They can also track group spending through the app, create pots of money and organize events with a simple ticketing feature.
Verse has launched a Visa debit card that allows users to spend money directly on their Verse account. There are no exchange fees and two free ATM withdrawals per month.
The company was established 2014 by Alex Lopera (Linkedin), , Borja Rossell (Linkedin) and Dario Nieuwenhuis (Linkedin). Verse was acquired by Square in June 2020.
Verse is an electronic money institution authorized and supervised by the Bank of Lithuania under the Law on Electronic Money and Electronic Money Institutions of the Republic of Lithuania (authorization code: LB001874).
