PrimeiroPay is an international payment service provider focused on the LATAM markets. It offers its customers a payment system without opening a local branch. Its focus is on providing its merchants with a simple and efficient way to process payments, especially in Latin America.

PrimeiroPay is affiliated with the main acquirers and offers both credit card payments and local payment methods such as Boleto Bancario. With PrimeiroPay, Latin American customers can purchase physical and digital goods online without tax burden or foreign exchange issues, as all cards are processed in local currency.

PrimeiroPay allows merchants to accept local credit cards such as Visa and Master, as well as Elo Card, in addition to international credit cards. Customers are not charged any additional taxes or fees when accepting local credit cards.

The company was founded in 2014 by Tim Werner. PrimeiroPay’s business was acquired by dLocal in April 2021 for $40 million.
